I collected those angpows from house to house on the first day of CNY as usual. Only difference is, there was hardly anyone playing fireworks. The mood for this year's celebration is pretty much dented a little because people in my family seem to be forgetting about something, fireworks. Even though it's already been banned in this country long time ago, you'll still see and hear the loud claps of those up in the sky usually at night.
Not going into that in detail since it feels like a dull celebration of the lunar new year. But this year I have received quite a few angpows with cartoon characters on it. Even got one from my parents.
Here's the abundance of angpows from Day 1Interestingly, I received Donald Duck as the first cartoon character of the year 2006.
Ignore the mandarin orange.So after a few houses and bulks of angpows later, a character from Warner Bros. came along.

Though these gold bars are not in the same shape as the old traditional chinese gold (ingots), at least these are real. *LoL* Not mine though. Last but not least, have a joyful and prosperous new year everyone!
