The other 3 trainees and myself were given a warm welcome by the heads of divisions, and a free lunch to that as well. All 4 of us were given a tour around the premise and also a visit to several departments on the first day, which was also the orientation day. The tour was really a big help to me because I really don't wanna go through the same experience again when I had to ask several staff just to get to a department. And that happened when I was on my way to meet the interviewer.
Anyway, the transporting department that I'm currently attached to has some really nice people over there. Surprisingly nice to me, probably because of the report that I will be writing to the M.D every 2 weeks. *LoL* If I write something bad about anyone in the department in my report, he or she is gonna get some "private" talks with the M.D. And that includes the head of the department.
The MTP (management trainee program) implementation was the M.D's idea so it is not surprising that he monitors our progress closely. In other words, the 4 of us are the new babies of the company. Sadly though, by the end of the 3rd month only 2 of us will be selected as permanent staffs. All 3 of the other trainees are a bunch of fun people but we only get to meet during the breaks. Every 2 weeks each of us will be assigned to different departments and thus results in preparing reports to the M.D
What I like about the job rotation policy is that you won't be feeling bored doing the same thing for a long time. Going to 4 different departments every 2 weeks for the first month or so on a 5 day-per-week basis. But it's gonna be a whole different story if and only IF I get appointed as a permanent staff *fingers crossed* Feels like going back to school, waking up at 6.30 in the morning daily. Only this time, I have to drive all the way to Prai and see the damn Penang bridge every single damn day. *yawn*
As for now, it's a new experience that I'm eager to explore and expand just to fill up my curiosity. Monetary reward aside, I think I'm going to have a good and memorable first job experience as a trainee :-)
