the leg brand durians =.='
As we went up the steep road, we stumbled upon 3 different stalls that sell few types of fruits but all mainly vying for customers hunting for durians. There was first the leg brand durian stall that greeted us along the way. Then appeared the head brand stall and lastly the hand brand stall. All three stalls were named "cap kaki", "cap kepala" and "cap tangan" respectively. Gee, how much more creative can these people get?
giant magical voodoo holy sacred durian ^_^
It's not hard to find this stall. Just in front of the stall sits probably the biggest sculpture for a fruit on this island. If you miss this one on your way there, do yourself a favour and drive off the cliff and just die.
hand-written menu
The first thing I noticed when I entered the stall was this coloured paper menu on the wall that shows some weird names of the fruits they have. No big deal here. But wait...
The menu seems to be showing so many kinds of fruits that even the prime minister and chief minister of penang in the photo on the wall couldn't resist and turned their heads to the left.

the "green skin" durian
Dad had the first taste of this one and praised it immediately. When I buried my teeth in its thick creamy flesh, gawd damn~!! This one could be the best durian I've ever had since I started eating them. It's so good that my parents bought two more boxes of it home.
the "red prawn" durian
Next is the "red prawn" breed. Don't ask me why are the names so weird. The names are translated from hokkien/malay. This one wasn't as satisfying as the first one. The colour of the flesh was almost light orange unlike the usual yellow ones, hence the name "red prawn" I think.
The green skin durian we had was actually a past winner in a local competition. No wonder many people there on that day were buying this breed back to their hometown. A lot of people at that time were not locals.
As I looked on, something caught my attention....
I need to clarify this with someone who can read the chinese words. I can't get the image of a dick-shaped durian out of my head till now since I saw this. I used to think of this fruit as just..well... fruit, of course. Thanks to this sign board, they no longer appear to be just thorny but kinky as well. As far as my mind is concerned that is.
