I've just made an eye popping discovery not very long ago. Kanamara Matsuri, also known as the festival of the Steel Phallus* is an annual Shinto fertility festival held in Kawasaki, Japan in spring. It has no exact date, but the main events usually fall on Sunday. The penis forms the central theme of the event that can be illustrated everywhere; be it a candy, decorations, parades and vegetables.
The Kanamara Matsuri is centered around a local penis-venerating* shrine, once popular among prostitutes who wished to pray for protection against sexually transmitted diseases. Also, a legend has it that a demon that hid inside a young girl and castrated two young men on their wedding nights before a blacksmith fashioned an iron phallus that was used to break the demon's teeth, leading to the enshrinement of the item.

"Move! Move! Everyone make way for Princess Penis!" * phallus -
an erect penis, to a penis-shaped object such as a dildo, or to a mimetic image of an erect penis.
* venerating
- a religious symbolic act giving honor to someone by honoring an image of that person (in this case, an object)
So there you have it. An enlightening rare post on a foreign culture, specially on

It's been rainy days here during the daytime, going into the evening for the past week or so. I'm glad that I still haven't fall sick due to the weather. As I was driving back home this evening from work, I gazed through the windscreen, soaked with trickling rain drops. It was cold enough even without the air-conditioner and it got me thinking of the warmth I usually get from you when you're near me. Feeling cold has always been my favourite excuse when I wanted to just curl myself up in your arms.
I played a song that I've been listening to non-stop lately. Just put myself at ease and enjoyed the song while driving, I let my mind wandered off somewhere else to stop thinking about work for a while. As the song reaches this part.......
When you walk awayI count the steps that you takeDo you see how much I need you right now?
... I stared out blankly yet I wished you'd know that you're just on my mind wherever I go and whatever I do, that you're stuck on my mind like how this song is stuck on me as well. It may not be the best romantic song around, but it surely did put to words how I've been feeling recently. Stuck in the traffic congestion still, I looked to the empty seat beside me and imagined that you're there. Silence has always been around to accompany me when I'm out on the run. Just closing my eyes for a short moment I could picture you clearly in my head, even without my sight.
How silly of me, how stupid of me. These are normally the answers I expect to hear from you. And it always puts a smile on my face whenever you tell it to me. At least it comes from you. At least it's better than being accompanied by a repeating song. At least it's better than being surrounded by silence.
Because being stupid is quite worth it, if it means having you by my side.
Ah... Finally I'm back from a long weekend holiday in KL. Been very long since I last updated this dusty blog of mine. I know I don't update it frequently and I have certain people around me who reminded me of updating it from time to time. It's partly because of my laziness. It's also partly because there are certain things I just didn't know how to put into words.
Anyway, I didn't really shop a lot in KL this time. Just got a t-shirt and that was it. I think I spent more on food than clothes this time. I wanted to try out a chocolate buffet somewhere else but ended up having buffet at the Shangri-La hotel. Quite nice though, for a big eater like me who have tasted almost everything you can name of.
Pics ahead.......................
