Goodbye 2007, Hello 2008~
Tuesday, January 01, 2008

Finally I'm back from home from the exhausting traffic congestion and the extremely ruthless crowds. Strange though because this new year's eve wasn't as "hyped up" as the previous one. Wanted to have my last meal at Chili's but alas, it wasn't to be.

While driving on the way to have dinner, there was this annoying china man who seemed to be impatient to get through this new year's eve night.

the uncivilized china man..

We headed to Gurney right after we've done with the meal. It was friggin' packed like a can of sardines so having a drink at Chili's was out of the question. We were lucky enough to have found an empty table at Starbucks. Felt kinda disappointed as I was considering which flavour of frappuccino to pick. I wanted to try the margarita at Chili's~!

By 11.40 p.m or so we were already by the road side among the crowds, anticipating the much awaited fireworks. Some people can already be seen toying around with party sprays. I remember I bought one and played with it last year. Didn't feel like it this year. Guess I was in no mood to bully.

Walked around the place and took some random shots of the crowd. For a moment there I thought I smell something from the party sprays, then I realised it wasn't. The cops were probably spraying something to disperse the crowd of youngsters. It smelt so awful that I had to retreat further away from the overcrowded street.

The cops on bikes rode through the hordes of people to keep them from covering the road completely. I couldn't stop smiling to myself when the rebellious lads threw bottles at the cops. I tried to take a clear shot at it but it happened too fast and unexpectedly. Would've been a real scene if some glass bottles were to hit those cops. At times like these, I'm just glad that I didn't park the car around there. I wonder if the owners of the cars there could enjoy the fireworks without taking their eyes off their vehicles :-P

Some Indian dude couldn't wait for the fireworks to start so he lit up the red long crackers for us to watch before the main "dish".

Fake snow in Penang.

Now comes the main event of the night...

3 stooges behind a pathetic overdue christmas tree

can't believe I took a pic with that tree...

Can't wait for the elevator so we took a short exercise running up the stairs..

Resting at GSC after running up to 6 levels of staircase.

Casual beggar..

Gasping for air..

goodbye two-oh-oh-seven~

It has been plenty of ups and downs for me in 2007. Time flies by so fast that it's the only thing in the world that freaks me out, without needing to touch it, see it or feel it. Whatever it is that's in store for us in this brand new year, I wish it would be a prosperous one & full of surprises.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll start pondering on the new year ahead of me as I catch my much needed Z's.

To all my loved ones & friends, have a joyous new year blessed with good health.
